Great video, quite surprised about the buoyancy difference between Eps and PU, having ridden same volume boards in both I can (an am not the only one) say EPS paddle noticeably better.

Will, where does the 0.78 constant come from in the wave group speed formula? As I understand, this is the breaking index, but we're talking about wave sets moving through the deep ocean right?

  • @oneRella

Surfboards spend most of their time moving on a rail but you mostly talked about how boards act when moving flat like when going straight away from the wave.

These vids have solved so many of my questions, esp the poh stance and leading hand ones. I think I figured catching waves on my own though, use that weight of the head to thrust down the unbroken wave

I would have loved to see this video where you did the full 3 of each move before changing to the next one. I find it better and more relaxing to follow alongside a video with someone who keeps talking, because if I try it without a video I get bored, or I put on an audio-book and loose focus on my training. In addition, it is easier to ensure one have the correct movements and position by following along a video, and watch someone else do it the right way. If I mess up, I can correct myself. Something that becomes impossible when trying to remember what was done, as ones memory is fuzzy on the details at even the best of times.
